Product description
The FM series vibration sensor magnets, manufactured by Yekan Company, are also known as surface magnets. These magnets act as an interface for mounting contact vibration sensors onto the surface of rotating industrial equipment.
Yekan produces its surface magnets in two models: FM-200 and FM-300. An example of their application with Yekan’s piezoelectric accelerometers (A230-1A and A210-1A) is shown in the figure below. In this example, the accelerometer on the right is mounted on an FM-300, while the left accelerometer is installed on the FM-200 surface magnet.
The maximum operating temperature for both FM-200 and FM-300 flat magnets is approximately 70°C. The FM series mounting thread is 1/4-28, which should be considered when attaching contact vibration sensors to the surface magnet.
The weight of the FM-300 is less than 200 g, and the FM-200 weighs less than 150 g. The mounting base and case are made of stainless steel, while the magnet material is Neodymium Iron Boron. The pull strength of the FM-300 is 300 N, whereas the FM-200 offers a pull strength of 200 N.
These FM magnets are designed for installing vibration sensors on flat surfaces. Magnet-based mounting is one of the common methods for sensor installation on rotating equipment, as demonstrated in the vibrometer example shown in the figure below.
